Chat with padel players: show you are looking for a partner and filter by city and level
The hard part of padel was never the shots. It was finding three other people who are free at the same time, play at roughly your level and actually turn up. We have now removed that step: you flag on your profile that you are looking for a padel partner, find others doing the same in your city, and message them privately in the app.
Step 1: turn on the "looking for a padel partner" status
Open your player profile and switch the status on. It takes ten seconds and it is the single most effective thing you can do to get more matches. Add the details that actually matter to other players:
- City. So nearby players find you, not players on the other side of the country.
- Level. Your level on the 1 to 10 scale, so matches stay even.
- When you can play. Evenings, weekends or lunchtimes.
- One short line about you. "Want a fixed weekly slot" says far more than an empty profile.
The status stays active for 30 days and then expires on its own, so the list never fills up with old requests. Still looking? Just switch it back on. Your profile then carries a green badge in the player lists and everyone can see you are open to play.
Step 2: filter by city and level under Padel friends
Under Padel friends there is a button that shows only players currently looking for a partner. Combine it freely with city and a minimum level. The filters apply at the same time, so you can pull up exactly "players in Norrkoping, level 5 or above, looking for a partner" instead of scrolling through the whole country.
Above the list your chosen conditions appear as chips together with the number of results, so you always know why the list looks the way it does and can drop one condition at a time. If you would rather start from a court than from a player, browse the open matches in the feed instead.
Step 3: read the profile before you reply
Being contacted by someone you have never met can feel uncertain. That is why the profile is always one tap away: in the chat you click the avatar or the name and see city, level, playing style and statistics for players who have chosen to show their profile publicly. You know who you are talking to before you decide, and you are free not to reply at all.
If someone behaves badly, the chat has a block button. Blocked players are collected in their own list under Messages, so you can unblock if you tapped by mistake. For help reading a level correctly, see our guide on finding padel players at your level.
Step 4: chat privately and get instant alerts
Private chat sits as its own icon in the top bar with an unread counter. When a new message arrives you see it immediately, both in the list and in an open conversation, without reloading. If you have added Padelpoolen to your home screen as an app, it works exactly the same there.
- One tap shows all your conversations with the latest message.
- The counter clears once you have read the thread.
- Chat opens straight from a player profile, no searching required.
- Match chat still works as before; private chat is an addition, not a replacement.
Why this makes the community stronger
A padel app that only lists matches is a booking calendar. What keeps a community alive is players daring to make the first move. With a clear status, filters for city and level and a private chat, three things happen:
- Fewer cancelled courts. When someone drops out on Thursday you message two players in your city instead of giving up the slot.
- More even matches. The level filter finds someone close to you, and that is when a match is worth leaving the house for.
- More newcomers get in. A beginner who knows nobody can flag that they are looking and get found, instead of having to chase.

How to write a message that gets a reply
- Mention level and city in the first sentence, it shows you read the profile.
- Suggest a concrete time, "Thursday 7pm" beats "get in touch sometime".
- Be clear about whether you want a regular partner or a one off match.
- Keep it short. Two lines is enough for someone to say yes.
- Book the court as soon as you agree and post the match in the app.
