Padel tournament: how to sign up, host and win
A padel tournament is the most fun way to improve, test your level and meet new players. Here's a complete guide to formats, sign-up, classes and how to both play in and host tournaments via Padelpoolen.
Common padel tournament formats
- Cup / knockout, classic tournament form. Lose and you're out. Standard in FIP and national events.
- Americano, everyone plays with and against everyone. Read our how Americano works guide.
- Mexicano, like Americano but pairs are set by current ranking in the tournament.
- King of the Court, winning pair moves up. See King of the Court in padel.
- Group stage + knockout, common in club tournaments with 8–16 pairs.
Classes and levels
Tournaments are usually split into classes by level (e.g. C, B, A) or by the Padelpoolen 1–10 scale. Pick the class that matches your real level, too high is brutal, too low is boring for everyone.
